Jeremy Allen White plays "The Boss," who struggles with inner demons in 1982. During a phase of inner turmoil, where his own fame threatens to overwhelm him, he consciously chooses to avoid the recording studio. Instead, he retreats to the solitude of his bedroom. There, he creates not exhilarating rock anthems, but dark, fragile songs – stories of guilt, lostness, and violence, recorded on a simple four-track device. The result is the unintended masterpiece "Nebraska."
