The Vienna Salon Soloists are a community of 13 Viennese musicians who have been collaborating for 30 years. The ensemble is dedicated to the preservation of classical salon music from the 19th and 20th centuries. Each year, the ensemble presents a New Year's program featuring the greatest hits from the golden and silver operetta eras. The current program "It Must Be a Waltz" includes works from the Strauss dynasty and compositions by operetta masters Franz Lehár, Robert Stolz, and Emmerich Kálmán. The guest star is singer, actress, and radio host Arabella Fenyves. She is regarded as one of the best interpreters of the Viennese operetta repertoire and will also moderate the concert. The unique feature of the Salon Soloists is their skillful mix of virtuosity, joy of performance, and showmanship, making their concerts a "must" for all lovers of salon music.
