In 1976, Heinz Moser began cello lessons with Leopold Regner at the Municipal Music School in Knittelfeld - where the Cultural Center stands today. Fifty years later, he takes the stage as a soloist with "his" orchestra and performs a major cello concerto for the first time in his hometown - namely, the most famous and beloved one among audiences and cellists alike! Antonín Dvořák composed it in America under the impression of the death of his youthful love, his sister-in-law Josefine, and his longing for his Bohemian homeland.

Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy was inspired by a two-year educational trip to Italy. His longing for the country inspired him to write his "Italian" Symphony. The music immerses the listeners in a whirlwind of spirited joy and cheerfulness.

The orchestra will be conducted by the highly awarded and rising young Styrian conductor David Schlager, who has already thrilled audiences in Knittelfeld with spectacular productions.
