For 10 years, the award-winning shooting stars of Shake Stew (Amadeus Music Award, German Jazz Prize) have been causing a stir in the jazz scene – and for their anniversary, they are raising the bar even higher: In a spectacular live show, they will present the first two parts of their new triple album TEN ONE TWO THREE and once again demonstrate why their concerts have long enjoyed cult status. Since their founding in 2016, Shake Stew has evolved from a hidden gem to one of the most influential formations in the European jazz scene. ZEIT called them "Austria's jazz band of the moment," the NDR early on declared them a "cult band," and their international status was definitively confirmed with the Amadeus Austrian Music Award 2023 and the German Jazz Prize 2021. Whether in a packed club, the sold-out Vienna Concert Hall, or the Elbphilharmonie – Shake Stew unleashes an energy with their hypnotic blend of driving rhythms and trance-like soundscapes that has led them to the most important festival stages in the world early on. In 2024, ORF even dedicated a documentary to the band titled "Shake Stew – Jazz for Everyone!", which traces their extraordinary journey and highlights their collaboration with saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings. 2026 now marks their 10th anniversary. And it wouldn't be Shake Stew if they didn't celebrate this occasion with a musical spectacle – the three-part album project TEN ONE TWO THREE. The first two parts featuring exclusively new music will be released in spring, with the third following in autumn. The formation is also opening a new chapter in their anniversary year: with Yvonne Moriel joining, one of the most exciting newcomers in the scene adds a fresh sound to Shake Stew. After ten years, countless concerts from Europe to overseas, and seven albums, it is clear: Shake Stew is much more than just a jazz band – they are an event. And they show no signs of slowing down.
