More than 100 goats graze in the Kohlenbach Valley - a farm visit as part of the "Badisch Bullerbü?" series at the Reuthof.

Cows, goats, and many other animals live together with the Baier family on the Reuthof in Waldkirch-Kollnau. Almost all year round, the animals live outside; only in winter do they go into the barn. The kids are born in April. The products of Monte Ziego are made from goat's milk. Additionally, the Reuthof offers animal-assisted recreational and educational activities for young and old. In the series "Badisch Bullerbü? Experience Agriculture in Transition," we invite you to a farm tour in the region every month (except December). Usually, agricultural operations from viticulture, arable farming, or grassland management are the hosts, sometimes also other food-producing or trading businesses. With the title "Badisch Bullerbü?" the series aims to convey and provoke. It connects to the idea that the romantic-naive notion of Bullerbü no longer holds in today's agriculture, even if consumers wish it so and our southern Baden landscape appears seductively beautiful and productive. Bullerbü is no more! Our regional agriculture and the entire value chain behind it face significant challenges and are under considerable pressure. The series is intended to give consumers the opportunity to gain insight into the work of farming and processing businesses, so they can get to know and appreciate regional products. Because each of us can significantly contribute to supporting and maintaining sustainable agriculture in the region through our purchasing behavior and engagement with the topic. During most farm tours, we stay outside or in unheated rooms, so we recommend weatherproof clothing and shoes.
