Two visionaries, two worlds: For NDT 2, Marco Goecke and Marcos Morau bring dark souls and rituals to life.

Dance The legendary NDT 2 is finally back in Austria! Inspired by the correspondence between Ingeborg Bachmann and Paul Celan, and set to the music of Franz Schubert, Alfred Schnittke, and the rock band Placebo, Marco Goecke presents a choreography titled Wir sagen uns Dunkles, exploring the vulnerable, dark side of humanity. With Folkå, Marcos Morau offers a pulsating visual and auditory landscape that tells stories of community, customs, and traditions.

Choreographer Marco Goecke collaborates worldwide with renowned companies. As the recipient of the German Dance Prize 2022, he is regarded as a significant figure in classical dance and will become the Artistic Director of the Ballet at the Theater Basel starting in the 2025/2026 season. Marcos Morau is one of the most influential voices in contemporary dance and has been contributing his artistic vision as an Artist in Residence at the Staatsballett Berlin since 2023. NDT 2 was founded in 1978 as the second company of NDT. Originally intended as a talent forge for young dancers, it has developed into an independent company with its own repertoire and worldwide tours.
