Hour of organ music: Ingo Bredenbach

The Tübingen cantor KMD Dr. Ingo Bredenbach, who has already played several very well-received concerts in St. Aurelius, is finally coming back to us after 8 years! He has an interesting program with him entitled "Bach as a learner." The gifted organist and communicator will talk more about the program and his selection of pieces, mainly by Johann Sebastian Bach and Dieterich Buxtehude, during the concert. Even a genius like Bach did not fall from the sky, but absorbed many musical impressions as a young man! We can look forward to an exciting concert... About the artist: Ingo Bredenbach, born in 1959 in Wuppertal, studied Protestant church music at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen (1985 A-Examen), 1983-87 cantor in Meerbusch-Lank, 1987-1999 district cantor in Nagold, 1996 appointment as director of church music, 1998-2009 organ professor and rector of the University of Church Music in Tübingen, 2001 founded a structured children's and youth choir program at the university, since 2006 also director of the "BachChor Tübingen," since January 2010 cantor at the Stiftskirche Tübingen. In February 2022, he received his doctorate from the Institute of Musicology at Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen; his dissertation, entitled "Johann Sebastian Bach's Clavier-Unterricht – Bach as a Learner and Teacher," was published by Bärenreiter-Verlag.  He is actively involved in concerts, teaching, and seminars; he also writes about music and composes; his works have been published by various publishers; he has made CD recordings (organ, children's choir). He is the author and co-editor of the textbook Probieren & Studieren (Strube-Verlag) and the textbook Basiswissen Kirchenmusik (Carus-Verlag). Most recently, the extensive collection "Der Neue Quempas" (The New Quempas) was published by Bärenreiter-Verlag and a two-volume collection on "Wochenlieder" (Songs of the Week) was published by Carus-Verlag.
