The latest finds in the exhibition depot Zehntscheune

The "stones from the well" are the focus of this tour. This includes the so-called "Atzmann" and the "Deacon," as well as many fragments of architectural decoration from the medieval Lorsch monastery.

A few years ago, a well shaft from the 18th century was rediscovered on the grounds of the former Lorsch monastery. The walls of the well revealed that stones from the medieval basilica of the Lorsch monastery were used in its construction. A time window into the past! Join us on a journey into the latest chapter of the archaeology of the monastery grounds.
