SALON on Sunday with Lisz Hirn and Christian Ultsch

The contemporary update of the historical "Salon": Anna Luca Krassnigg invites personalities from art, literature, and science every Sunday to discuss burning questions in the light of the season's motto. This time, we are enriched by Daniela Strigl, Klaus Theweleit, Florian Scheuba, Lisz Hirn, Jonas Grethlein, and numerous other forward-thinking individuals.

Using the war and love play "Penthesilea" and considering the international situation, patterns of thinking about warfare as well as humanity's longing for peace will be explored. From the Trojan to today's battlefields: How much are we shaped by myths, narratives, and images, and how can we best grasp the reality of war and the real reason for peace?
The renowned philosopher and author Lisz Hirn and the head of the foreign affairs department of the daily newspaper Die Presse, Christian Ultsch, approach perhaps the most challenging topic of our time.

The format of the salon, which undoubtedly has a theatrical element, aims at a dual event: the stage experience as a spark and the public salon as a ritual to further develop and let the experienced resonate.

With her esteemed guests, theater maker Anna Luca Krassnigg explores variations of the monstrous and seeks answers to the eternal riddle of humanity's dual nature: in ancient myths, in Austria, in complex relationships of war and love, and in the monstrous events of our days.
