The Palais Vischer was built from 1787 to 1791 according to the plans of the Stuttgart Ducal Chief Building Director R.F.H. Fischer in the magnificent style of Louis XVI. The builder, Johann Martin Vischer, head of the Raft and Timber Trading Company, spared no effort or expense to provide his guests with a dignified reception. And this can still be felt today. Upon entering the city palace through the entrance hall and ascending the stylish staircase to the "Beletage," which has been partially preserved with original furnishings, one feels immersed in the life of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The current museum of the city is a true Gesamtkunstwerk of architecture, interior design, and precious furniture. No registration is required!
