Fascination Model Railroading

The exhibition "Fascination Model Railway" is over 50 meters long and about five meters wide, with more than 200 meters of track installed – making it one of the largest portable model railway layouts in Germany. The southern circular building of Schwetzingen Palace will be a focal point and excursion tip for railway fans from Friday, December 19, to Tuesday, January 6. The Module Construction Friends Ladenburg e.V. will present the exhibition "Fascination Model Railway" there. In a scale of 1:87, guests can immerse themselves in the world of trains and be inspired by one of the largest portable model railway layouts in Germany. The miniature layout is over 50 meters long and about five meters wide – with over 200 meters of track installed. Steam locomotives, ICE trains, and other trains travel through landscapes filled with details: farmers working in their fields, construction workers, and demonstrations can be seen – as well as some scenes that provoke a smile. Great emphasis is placed on authenticity: the track layout, signals, and the behavior of the trains are as realistic as possible. Highlights of the exhibition include a large multi-track train station, a logistics center with self-driving trucks, a busy container terminal, and a replica of the Federal Garden Show 2023 in Mannheim, including the spectacular gondola system.
