Ox and Donkey / for ages 7 and up - Kempten Theatre

The play "Puss in Boots," announced in the season brochure, unfortunately cannot be shown, as the State Theater of Upper Palatinate ceased operations with immediate effect at the end of April 2025. Nevertheless, we can offer elementary school classes a Christmas theater performance and present "Ox and Donkey" from the Theater Kempten. A kind of nativity play for the whole family by Norbert Ebel, Theater Kempten, directed by Jennifer Sittler, with Christian Kaiser and Sebastian Strehler performing. A heartwarming Christmas piece filled with humor, slapstick elements, and music. What is the poor hungry OX supposed to do when suddenly, out of nowhere, a screaming bundle lies in his feeding trough – right in the middle of his dinner? Ignore it? Eat it?? Throw it out the window??? No, thinks the OX, first I’ll call the DONKEY. And as always, the donkey arrives late, admires the problem, and is sure: the screaming bundle is the baby Jesus! While the two clumsy and scatterbrained characters try to comfort the parentless bundle and keep it warm and dry, they suddenly realize what it means to love someone very dearly – even if that someone has kept them from dinner for hours.
