Schwetzinger SWR Festival: In this Life

The two musicians Thomas Dunford and Keyvan Chemirani play not only works by Bach, Purcell, and others but also their own pieces. At the Schwetzingen SWR Festival 2025, his night concert was one of the celebrated hits of the program, and now the "Eric Clapton of the lute," son of a French gambist and an American violinist, is once again bringing his very special blend of old and new pieces, Baroque music, pop, and original compositions, both played and sung, to the castle. However, Thomas Dunford is not alone in this wish program of the versatile artist: he is joined by the equally versatile percussionist Keyvan Chemirani, a Frenchman with Iranian roots. Together, the two musicians present Dowland and Dunford, Purcell and Clapton, Bach and Cohen, improvisations, The Frog Galliard, Music for a While, and the famous Chaconne from Bach's d-minor violin partita. Keyvan Chemirani will also present one of his own works. Additionally, the two have co-written a musical portrait of the protagonist from One Thousand and One Nights.
