31st INTERNATIONAL GÜNTHER STAPFER MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT – ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION Friday, September 4, 2026, Start: from 12:00 PM Saturday, September 5, 2026, Start: from 9:30 AM Günther Stapfer was a very promising young athlete and managed to win several Austrian youth championship titles. He consistently worked his way into the Bundesliga team. After a serious illness, he passed away at the age of 23 on March 6, 1993. In his memory, the International Günther Stapfer Memorial Tournament was established in 1994. It has developed into one of the largest youth tournaments in Europe. The highlight was certainly the participation of the German Olympic team with Olympic champion Matthias Steiner in 2009.
