Matthias Erzberger was an important political key figure in Germany. The museum and the tour tell the story of his life and actions. Matthias Erzberger was a significant political key figure at the transition from the German Empire to the Weimar Republic. To keep the memory of the lively Swabian, born in 1875 in Buttenhausen, alive, a memorial site was established in his birthplace in 2004 by the House of History Baden-Württemberg and the city of Münsingen. Media installations, audio, and film documents vividly illustrate the circumstances of that time.
