The mishaps of their contemporaries provide the material for the Schnurr groups' witty, pointed, and amusing presentations. In the afternoon and evening of Schnurr Sunday, various groups parade through the local establishments and the castle hall in Wolfach, singing and rhyming about everything that went wrong in the past year. The Schnurr groups are additionally complemented by a small delegation from the city and the carnival band, as well as the Wolfach Hansele. The Schnurr, which traditionally takes place on the Sunday before the announcement, marks the end of the pre-carnival season.
