Once upon a time...

Since time immemorial, fairy tales have been part of the development of our inner understanding of the soul. The unique imagery of fairy tales reflects all our deeply rooted memories, dreams, and visions. For children aged 4 and up, narrated by Samiya Bilgin, the artistic fairy tale "The Snow Queen" by Hans Christian Andersen brings the stage of the Theater am Puls to life during the Advent season. As a family production by Joerg Steve Mohr, it will fill the winter season; in this fairy tale told in seven steps, we – you, dear parents and grandparents, your children, and I – will accompany the two heroes through the Sunday fairy tale time. There is a goblin who causes mischief with a dark mirror, and two children, Gerda and Kay, who are inseparable – almost like two soul parts of the same person. Due to a splinter in his eye, Kay becomes cold, distant, and hurtful, while the loving Gerda becomes sad and lonely. This is often the case within all of us: while one side, in pain, wishes to feel nothing at all, the other side weeps and mourns desperately in solitude. The course of the fairy tale and its wonderfully happy ending show us all how the two sides can come together again.
