As the largest festival for classical music in central Germany, the Thüringer Bachwochen brings one of the important cultural landscapes to life every year. For Thüringen is the land of Bach: Johann Sebastian Bach was born here in 1685, grew up in Thüringen, and had his first musical positions here. Just as his family before him, Bach also shaped Thüringen as a musician and composer. At the historically preserved sites, the Bach Weeks present his works in excellent interpretations.
