Regiswindis Church: A Place of Longing for the Senses and the Soul

A special tour around the Regiswindiskirche in Lauffen with many exciting insights into its legend. According to the narrative, around 840, the count's daughter was murdered here and, after a miraculous discovery of her body, was canonized. In the Middle Ages, the church became a well-known pilgrimage site. In particular, the medieval stone sarcophagus, which for a long time housed the remains of the saint and now stands in the adjacent Regiswindiskapelle, bears witness to the deep piety of the pilgrims. The belief in the power of touching the grave made Lauffen a deeply rooted spiritual place for centuries.
