The musical and the eponymous Swedish film by Kay Pollak tell the story of conductor Daniel Daréus, who returns to the village of his childhood after a heart attack. There, he takes over the leadership of the church choir and captivates with his unconventional methods. However, not everyone in the village is pleased that a fresh breeze is blowing through the community, and he finds himself in conflict with the entrenched structures. Musical Güssing has managed to secure the rights for the German-language performance of this hit musical. It is directed by artistic director Marianne Resetarits.
The most well-known song from the musical is "Gabriela's Song." The musical will be performed on the outdoor stage at KUZ-Güssing, and in case of bad weather, it will be held indoors!
