The widowed Munich master baker Alois Weinzierl, whose sister manages his household, experiences all sorts of troubles with his two daughters of marriageable age. However, in the end, this difficult case in the small world of old Munich citizens resolves itself to everyone's satisfaction - not least thanks to the charm of a widow named Julia Schiebl.
