Mira Perusich

Mira Perusich brings together languages, sounds, and stories on her new album "Svica." The Vienna-based musician with Burgenland-Croatian roots navigates between pop, traditional music from Southeast Europe, and her own compositional designs. Her songs are created in several languages – Burgenland-Croatian, English, and German – reflecting an identity that is composed of various cultural spaces.

Some songs connect lines from multiple languages, such as "Nugao Pameti / The Corner," while others bring dialect and Croatian together, like "G’spannt Sei." In "Svica" (Light/Candle), Mira Perusich speaks of returning to her Burgenland-Croatian identity. The blending of linguistic levels is not just an effect but part of a biographical narrative that allows for both closeness and distance.

Musically, Perusich focuses on voice, piano, and loop station – the tools with which she shapes her songs. Her voice appears in multi-layered, choral levels, while the piano plays with rhythmic patterns and clear motifs. The themes revolve around hope, memory, and the search for a personal place, also shaped by the minority perspective from which the artist tells her story.

Following the digital EP The Corner – Nugao pameti, the album "Svica" will be released digitally and on CD in April 2026. At Sargfabrik, Mira Perusich will present her new pieces live for the first time with a band and special guests (to be announced).
