Bread & Stars: Tales of Wanderlust

Three storytellers at work: Franz Hautzinger, Matthias Loibner, and Peter Rosmanith have been friends for many years – and under the name Brot & Sterne, they have found a captivating musical language that moves between jazz, film music, and world sound, between silence and explosion, between earth and dream.

With trumpet, hurdy-gurdy, percussion, and inexhaustible imagination, they create a sound that opens up spaces – atmospherically dense, rich in color, and narrative. Each improvisation becomes a landscape, each melody a place, each silence a breath. Their music describes nothing – it allows images to emerge: radiant, enigmatic, and deeply moving.

Their CD "Tales of Herbst" was released by the Berlin label Traumton and was awarded the Ö1 Pasticcio Prize. For the Ö1 radio play production "Das Wechselbälgchen" by Christine Lavant, the ensemble composed the music – the work was chosen by the audience as the Radio Play of the Year in 2015 and has been published as a sound book by Mandelbaum Verlag.
