Orwell's modern classic "1984" serves as the starting point for the Melk Summer Games 2026. While in the original, history is rewritten in the "Ministry of Truth," the title currently evokes a variety of thoughts. Just as in the original, we see today on one side fake news and authoritarian systems, and on the other, humanity and resistance. On one hand, "big brother is watching you," and on the other, the urge for self-determination and intimacy. The protagonists of the piece confront this challenge—driven by a longing for freedom and dignity.
