What happens when fire, water, air, and earth come together musically? In this concert, two very different perspectives on the four elements unite: the expressive tonal language of the French Baroque meets the emotional sound world of modern film music. At the center is the work "Les Élémens" by Jean-Féry Rebel, a ballet suite from 1737, in which musical chaos, natural forces, and harmonic order are presented in a fascinating way. Particularly famous is the beginning, a single storm of dissonance that is still considered a musical risk today.

In contrast, Rachel Portman's Violin Concerto "Tipping Points" tells, through sensitive sound images, about the balance of nature – and how easily it can tip. Alexandra Tirsu brings each of these moods to life impressively with her violin.

Recreation, the orchestra under the direction of Ingmar Beck, connects both works for an impressive evening that makes the theme of "elements" tangible on two temporal levels. A concert event with a strong connection to nature and the cultural diversity of the Graz experience region in Styria.

The concert will take place on Monday, June 8, 2026, in two performances: at 6:00 PM and at 8:00 PM. A brief introduction by artistic director Mathis Huber will begin 20 minutes before the concert starts, allowing the audience to prepare for the experience.
