As pioneers of Classical Crossover, they impress with deep musical sensitivity, exploring the boundaries between classical, pop, avant-garde, world music, and electronics. With "AERO – four seasons," they present their own interpretation of the four seasons, thus completing their Elements Tetralogy.
The radio.string.quartet from Vienna completes its epic ELEMENTE Tetralogy – a project that, after earth, water, and fire, now makes air sonically tangible. With "AERO – four seasons," the quartet presents its completely unique interpretation of the four seasons. Inspired by the idea and formal structure of Vivaldi, the ensemble takes a new, musically and sonically extraordinary direction. Without direct quotes or stylistic borrowings, it creates a visionary statement for creative freedom and musical innovation. The music floats – sometimes barely audible like a breath of air, then again impulsive like a gust of wind, embodying both relief and release.
As pioneers of Classical Crossover, the radio.string.quartet once again impresses with its deep musical sensitivity, which allows it to explore the boundaries between classical, pop, avant-garde, world music, and electronics, making it the epitome of a forward-looking string quartet in the 21st century. In "AERO – four seasons," the radio.string.quartet presents not an ordinary concert program, but an atmospheric sound installation that appeals to both classical music lovers and adventurous listeners.
The four members, Bernie Mallinger (violin), Igmar Jenner (violin), Cynthia Liao (viola), and Sophie Abraham (cello), share the ambition to expand the sound spectrum of the classical string quartet. Everything is possible on the 16 strings, whether it's a jazz-rock groove or pop-infused melodies, new music, or European folk traditions.
