TrÜP Tour: Visit to a Herd of Donkeys

Bird Protection Through Petting Easy hike of approximately 5 hours in total, 8 km and 80 meters of elevation gain Under the motto "Bird Protection Through Petting," nature and landscape guide Siegfried Guggenberger invites you to a hike to a herd of donkeys on the former military training area of Münsingen. The stonechat is on the list of endangered bird species, and efforts are being made to encourage it to breed in the area again by stationing a herd of about 40 donkeys, including 12 foals. The connection between this and the bird protection efforts will be the main theme of the hike, but of course, there will also be plenty of information about the area itself. The hike will first lead to the 42-meter-high observation tower Hursch, then through the restricted area to the donkey herd, and back again, passing the ruins of the Schorstallhof. Good footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, sun protection, and enough food and drink for 5 hours are necessary. Children and teenagers can only participate when accompanied by a legal guardian. The tour is not suitable for strollers and wheelchairs.
