During the cross-border hiking tour, you will not only get to know the Burgenland mountain landscape but also the Hungarian plain around the highest mountain in Burgenland, the Geschriebenstein (884 m). The Geschriebenstein circuit can be started and finished in any of the nature park municipalities (Rechnitz, Markt Neuhodis, Kohlstätten, Lockenhaus, and Köszeg). The "Geschriebenstein Raos" offers the 56 km long ultra-hike as a competitive event, supported by the Naturpark Geschriebenstein association. Participants can complete the route by hiking, running in the individual competition, or as a relay team. The challenging tour passes by attractive sights such as Wallner Mill, the treetop walkway, charcoal kiln, Lockenhaus Castle, the city center of Köszeg, thatched cellars in Cák, and the castle in Boszok. The ultra tour can also be completed in stages, and you can create your own personal and individual route. The hiking trail is marked by a hiker symbol attached to trees, on the road, and on wooden posts. A passport is required! Participation fee: € 40.
