Historical Town Walk Elsenz

Discover the Eppingen district of Elsenz on a historical town tour. Elsenz was first documented in 1137 and is a typical Kraichgau community. The village's appearance and the surrounding fields were shaped by tobacco and wine cultivation until the last century. There were two large tobacco factories. A touch of "modernity" came with the inauguration of the railway line to Bruchsal, featuring the historic train station in Elsenz in October 1900, which, however, was closed in 1960. The Elsenzer Lake, whose silhouette is reflected with the two churches in the background, attracts many bathers and those seeking relaxation from near and far.
