Thematic Tours: Stollen System "Bergkristall"

The tours take place on those days between 8 AM and 5 PM with around 10 appointments.

The tunnel system "Bergkristall" was part of the Mauthausen-Gusen concentration camp complex. Thousands of prisoners constructed the underground tunnel system, which was used for the armaments industry. The tours begin with an introduction that addresses the persecution policies of the Nazis, the Mauthausen-Gusen camp system, and the beneficiaries of forced labor. During the subsequent walk through the tunnel system, the working and living conditions of the prisoners are discussed based on eyewitness reports.
