We will take you on a tour through the wonderful cultural landscape in which our 28 historic buildings are nestled and tell you the story of the houses and their inhabitants. **The family-friendly open-air museum**
The Allgäu-Oberschwaben Farmhouse Museum is particularly suitable for family outings. Here you can experience history in many different ways—in the historic farmhouses and exhibitions, on exciting guided tours, and through hands-on activities. In the 28 faithfully furnished rooms, chambers, and stables, you can experience rural life, customs, and traditions of past centuries. The buildings are nestled in a carefully maintained cultural landscape: farm gardens with old, almost forgotten vegetable varieties, native flowers and herbs, as well as species-rich meadows, pastures, and orchards that invite you to take a walk across the vast grounds. Children especially love our many animals – chickens, goats, sheep, pigs, free-range geese, and of course the Allgäu Brown cattle in the pastures. A children's guide with an activity book and our museum app invite you to explore our buildings. Several adventure days offer a colorful program, from craft demonstrations to hands-on activities. Public tours take place on Sundays and public holidays. On "Family Saturdays," you can participate with a family ticket at half price. There are also free hands-on projects on these Saturdays. A special highlight is the new, inclusive playground on the museum grounds. Children of all ages can play and romp to their heart's content here. High-quality play equipment made of robinia and larch wood, such as the climbing tractor and hay cart, invite children to climb and explore. Particularly exciting are the indoor play barn with "itching in the hay" and the climbing stones with a "robber's hole" to hide in. The playground is barrier-free, so children with and without disabilities can play together.
