Textile Design: Dyeing Wool with the Power of Nature

With the treasures of the traditional orchard and the power of the sun, we want to dye wool individually and completely naturally. This is a course for anyone who enjoys experimenting. At the beginning of the course, we will peel freshly cut fruit tree branches, boil the bark, and dye small strands of wool in this hot dye bath. While the wool in the large pot absorbs the color pigments, we will experiment with other barks and plants that can already be found in the traditional orchard at the end of March, and we will set up solar dyeing processes that everyone can take home: the sun will then control the dyeing process. This is a course for those who love to experiment. No prior knowledge is required. Course instructor: Rita Thoma.
