Among Animals – An evening at the wildlife park about and with wolves, sheep, and donkeys

As part of the *43rd Baden-Württemberg Literature Days*, open-air discussions about and featuring wolves, sheep, and donkeys will take place at the Wildlife Park. Sure, the wolf is the star of the Mergentheim Wildlife Park! But aren’t sheep and donkeys perhaps the stars of our hearts? In any case, they all stir something within us; instantly, images of these three animals come to mind and stir emotions in our hearts. And culturally, too, they have all left their mark over centuries of coexistence with us humans. Enough material, in any case, for three volumes published in the wonderful *Tierkunden* series by Matthes & Seitz Berlin: beautifully illustrated cultural histories that tell us a lot about the animals, but perhaps even more about ourselves. Let yourself be captivated by Petra Ahne (wolf), Eckhard Fuhr (sheep), and Jutta Person (donkey) as they tell you, on-site and live in front of the animals themselves, what makes these four-legged friends so special. The questions are posed by Katrin Schumacher (herself, incidentally, a proven fox expert!). And because an empty stomach doesn’t listen well, the Waldschänke in the wildlife park will provide you with a delicious snack included in the price.
