With a smoky voice and a clear stance, she wrote songs that didn’t aim to please – but to resonate.

She sang about life, aging, pain, pride, love, and disillusionment.

HONEST. UNCOMFORTABLE. TOUCHING. TIMELESS.

Born in the rubble of a torn world, she became a voice of longing and escape.

Her life was a balancing act – between glamour and gray veil, between Berlin and Hollywood, between hope and downfall.

And yet, she always remained herself.

A woman who did not seek to please, but had to be heard.

With this evening, we pay tribute to Hildegard Knef, 100 years later.

We tell her story – in songs, in words, in memories.

And perhaps it will rain for a moment: Red roses.
