OSTPARTIE - the Ostbahn-Kurti Tribute Band

A year after the tragic passing of Willi Resetarits, aka Dr. Kurt Ostbahn, an East Austrian formation took to the stage to faithfully bring back the sensational music of Ostbahn-Kurti & die Chefpartie. Five experienced musicians, dedicated to classic rock 'n' roll and the unmistakable dialect lyrics as well as the unique Ostbahn style, have since been providing their fans with unforgettable concert evenings. Sold-out concerts have already taken place at Spinnerei Traun, Waldviertler Kammerbühne, Stadtsaal Zwettl, twice at Vindobona, and in Szene Wien, as well as in numerous other locations. Recently, in the summer of 2025, the Ostpartie gave by far the most extraordinary concert of their career...

For around 5,000 visitors, they performed on stage at "Nachklang" at the Vienna Central Cemetery at the end of August, right next to the honorary graves, where Willi Resetarits has also found his final resting place. The Ostpartie delivered the grand, roughly one-hour finale of the evening and had to give several encores, including the obligatory cult song "Es lebe der Zentralfriedhof" by Wolfgang Ambros and "Feuer," together with the Jungen Tenören.

Now, on Friday, May 1, 2026, the third concert of the Ostpartie will take place at Vindobona, where the quintet already had sold-out shows in spring and autumn 2025. It is hard to determine exactly how many times Willi Resetarits stood on the Vindobona stage, but it must have been well over 100 performances. Just with the Schmetterlinge, it was several dozen times, as well as many times as Ostbahn-Kurti and with virtually all his other projects and formations. Therefore, there is no more fitting stage for the Ostpartie in Vienna. Pre-sales are already in full swing:

In the over two-hour breathtaking show of the Ostpartie, neither the biggest hits and crowd-pleasers like "Feuer," "Radl nach Rio," "Arbeit," "Chili con Carne," "I hea di klopfn," "Da Joker," or "57er Chevy," nor cult songs like "Kilo," "Ois hot sei End," "Neiche Schoin," "Nochtschicht," or "Na, so wirst ned oid" are missing. The legendary introductions and conferences of Dr. Kurt Ostbahn are, of course, included for the enjoyment of the audience. With their concerts, the Ostpartie aims not only to keep this magnificent music alive but also to remember an artist whose social commitment was unique and exemplary.

For the first time at a concert in Vienna, a special feature will be offered at Vindobona: In the first set, the Ostpartie will now play the legendary album "A schene Leich" in its original order and with the original five-member lineup that the Chefpartie had until 1988.
