Butterflies and Their Habitats in the Kalkalpen National Park
Over 1,600 butterfly species flutter in the Kalkalpen National Park, making it the area with the highest number of species recorded in Austria. The day butterflies love the flower-rich habitats and the open, natural forests. If the day butterflies are scarce during damp and cold weather, we will focus on their habitat requirements and nectar plants during the tour.

Requirements: The guided tours on fixed dates are reserved for private individuals. We ask groups of 10 or more, companies, schools, or other organizations to contact the respective visitor center.

Meeting point: Villa Sonnwend, 4575 Roßleithen, Mayrwinkl 80
Time & Duration: 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, approximately 4 hours (pure walking time about 2 hours)
Guide: National Park Ranger Maria Felbauer
Equipment: Please bring weatherproof clothing, hiking shoes, a small snack, and a drink; binoculars and a hand lens are recommended.
Please note that bringing dogs on this tour is unfortunately not possible.
