From Alp to Alp

As diverse as the wild forests in the Kalkalpen National Park, so rich in species are the colorful alpine meadows at Hengstpass, which benefit from the untouched mountain landscape. We will leisurely hike through the alpine area at Hengstpass with magnificent views of the Kampermauer and Haller Mauern all the way to the Gesäuse. Stations along the nature experience trail provide insights into the breeding grounds of alpine newts and yellow-bellied toads, as well as the variety of valuable microhabitats on the alpine pastures.

Requirements: The guided tours on fixed dates are reserved for private individuals. Groups of 10 or more, companies, schools, or other organizations are asked to contact the respective visitor center.

Meeting point: Parking lot at Hengstpass near Karlhütte, by the large wooden horse "Hengsti" (between Karlhütte and Puglalm)
Time & Duration: 09:30 AM to 01:00 PM, approximately 3.5 hours (actual walking time about 2.5 hours)

Equipment: Weatherproof clothing, hiking boots, drink, and possibly a small snack; a camera is recommended. Please note that bringing dogs on this tour is unfortunately not possible (due to grazing animals).
