What began in 1991 as an inconspicuous event with just under 400 visitors in the Kollegienkirche in Salzburg has developed into a cultural event of high musical and artistic quality. The "Salzburger Advent®" has redefined the face of Advent singing in Salzburg with its unmistakable content, authenticity, and independence. More than 300,000 visitors in Salzburg, Munich, Vienna, and Linz bear witness to this. Our ensemble and especially our loyal audience deserve sincere thanks for this! By combining traditional songs with the reinterpretation of genuine Advent folk music, a very special blend has emerged that deeply touches visitors year after year. The Advent season has something magical, indeed something wonderful. Strengthening these feelings and preparing for the most beautiful celebration of the year has become a heartfelt mission for the Salzburger Advent. A comprehensive body of compositions, stories, and plays reflects the creativity and artistic power of all participants. The musical highlights, the most beautiful texts and stories, and a contemplative play create a captivating production. Firmly rooted in tradition, nurtured and cherished with heart and feeling, E.W. Holzmann has been staging the original "Salzburger Advent" for more than 30 years. Over a hundred artists, musicians, and actors present songs and melodies, stories, and poems. Most of them are self-created, with some adapted from old masters. Surrounding the central play, performed by the talented child actors and performers of the "Salzburger Advent," the individual ensembles come together with their musical pieces, songs, and texts for a touching Advent singing. With the new program, we would like to once again prepare you for the reflective Advent season and the upcoming Christmas celebration! Participants: Viergspann, Reiterer Vocal Ensemble, Die Rauchkuchlmusi, Pongauer Stub'n Musi, Salzburger Adventconsort, Salzburger Guitar Trio, Brass Ensemble "Mirabell," LandesChor Hohensalzburg, Theater Ensemble of the Salzburger Advent.
