From grain to flour

Family tour on Mill Day. Experience the popular family tour "From Grain to Flour" on Mill Day. Black Forest guide Martin Grießhaber, in the role of "Farmer Anton," will show you how grain was harvested 100 years ago and what steps were necessary to process the grain into flour. In a time when combine harvesters and electric motors had not yet been invented or were still too expensive, the work was done using muscle power and water power. "Farmer Anton" will talk partly in the Tennenbronn dialect and demonstrate the individual steps involved. You and your children can also lend a hand and help with the threshing, for example. The tour ends with a demonstration of milling in the Wiesenbauernmühle, where you can experience the journey from grain to flour and hear the clattering of the mill up close in a fully preserved Black Forest mill.
