Fair Tales draws on well-known fairy tale settings, where Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, Snow White, her stepmother, Cinderella, the stepsisters, and the prince come together. The characters explore the stories that have been written about them and encounter recurring structural challenges. Gradually, they leave behind their seemingly passive character traits and open themselves and the audience to alternative storylines with curiosity and self-determination. The piece combines theater with circus disciplines such as aerial acrobatics, clowning, handstand, and dance acrobatics. There are scenes and moments of great comedy, beauty, sadness, and even a bit of romance. Equality, nonconformity, diversity, solidarity, and collaboration are central themes.
