In the four years that Joey Valence & Brae have been making music together, the duo has carved out a special place in modern hip-hop with their versatile sound and annual releases. "PUNK TACTICS" from their self-titled debut album went viral in 2022 and laid the foundation for a career in which the duo grew closer, becoming bolder and louder. This is also reflected in their sound, which combines versatile rap with experimental hip-hop as well as influences from rock, punk, and nerdcore. This made the duo sought-after collaborators, leading to features on songs by IDK, Pendulum, 6ix, ACRAZE, and Apashe. After touring North America and the UK, and performing at festivals such as Gov Ball, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza (Chicago, Paris, and Berlin), Osheaga, and many others, Joey Valence & Brae are hitting the road again with their current studio album "HYPERYOUTH." Following the sold-out start of their HYPERYOUTH WORLD TOUR, the duo will be performing live in Germany in May 2026 in Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin, and Munich, promising nothing less than "the best live show I've been to in years," according to Jack Saunders from BBC 1.
Joey Valence & Brae formed in 2021 after Joseph Bertolino (Joey Valence) and Braedan Lugue (Brae) met in their freshman year at Pennsylvania State University. The duo debuted in 2021 with the single "Crank It Up" and followed up with "Underground Sound" and "Double Jump," which quickly solidified their energetic hip-hop sound. In 2022, they released their debut EP "The Underground Sound," followed by the single "PUNK TACTICS," which finally propelled Joey Valence & Brae into the spotlight. In 2023, they released their self-titled debut album, which featured "HOOLIGANG" as the next success for the duo. By June 2024, they followed up with their second album "NO HANDS," along with the lead single "THE BADDEST" featuring Ayesha Erotica and the fan favorite "OK." After a consistently evolving musical journey, their third album "HYPERYOUTH," featuring TiaCorine, Rebecca Black, and JPEGMAFIA, showcases the duo's most versatile take on the modern hip-hop game to date. However, not only musically but also lyrically, Joey Valence & Brae have developed a new depth by 2025. Thematically, "HYPERYOUTH" delves deep into the thoughts of growing up without aging, demonstrating a lyrical evolution and undoubtedly being the duo's most innovative work to date.
