Lovers of Italian canzoni immediately associate the name Conte with Paolo. The younger of the two Conte brothers certainly does not fall short of the great Paolo. While Paolo was slowly but surely paving the way for a world career, Giorgio continued to write songs for Italian stars such as Mina, Milva, Ornella Vanoni, Francesco Baccini, and Fausto Leali. It was only later that the lover of old jazz, Italian folk music, and French chansons decided to interpret his works on stage himself. He has managed to find his own personal style, stepping into the footsteps of his famous and revered older brother without becoming a copy.
