Butterfly Identification Course in the Botanical Garden

In this course, the main groups of butterfly species found in Austria and their habitats will be presented. Using specimens and photos, the identification features of the most common species will be explored. Practical identification exercises will deepen the knowledge gained. In addition to relatively easy-to-identify groups, interested participants can also engage with more challenging species identifications, for example from the groups of Blues, Skippers, or Admirals.
No prior knowledge is required!
If available, please bring identification literature.
