Bird Paradise Buchenwald

The Kalkalpen National Park is known for its pristine beech forests, which have been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. These forests provide food and nesting sites for a diverse bird population. All six woodpecker species found in the national park can be seen here in the Reichraminger Hintergebirge, including the rare white-backed woodpecker. Songbirds such as the collar and dwarf flycatchers take advantage of the abundant woodpecker holes. Difficulty: Moderate
We will hike along the Wilderness Trail Buchensteig beside the Großer Bach to the Wilden Graben.
