Special Tour with Mag. Gudrun Fuß

The Botanical Garden in Linz is home to over ten thousand different plant species, and this diversity exerts an almost magical attraction on countless insect species. Wild bees, in particular, benefit from the varied floral offerings that begin in early spring and conclude in late autumn with the blooming of ivy, which is especially enjoyed by the ivy mining bee (Colletes hederae). In addition to a plentiful food supply, there are also enough suitable nesting opportunities for more demanding wild bee species. Butterflies, beetles, true bugs, and a multitude of other insects also find their home in the Botanical Garden.

During a joint tour, some of these insects will be introduced, along with tips on how to make your own balcony or garden more insect-friendly.
