A tribute to Georg Danzer

Georg Danzer's producer and long-time companion, Prof. Blacky Schwarz, wrote about this unusual project: "Vienna and Tyrol. Danzer and the Hackbrett. How does that fit together? To my surprise, very well. A passionate musician and a male counterpart come together, and the connection is made... the Tyrolean Maria Ma, who brings the Hackbrett from tradition into contemporary... popular music and... gives Georg Danzer's melodies a new facet... and the die-hard Viennese, Ulli Bäer, who was a friend and musical companion of Georg Danzer for many years..." The ensemble is completed by Maria Ma, the current drummer of Rainhard Fendrich, Christian Einheller, and bassist Mischa Krausz (Andre Heller, Etta Scollo, Maria Bill,...) to form the trio featuring Ulli Bäer. The four musicians reinterpret songs that have a direct connection to Georg Danzer or originate from his pen. Among them are songs that in the past often stood in the shadow of the big Danzer hits, such as the ghost track from "13 dirty songs." The connection between Danzer and Bäer is multifaceted. Ulli Bäer was the guitarist in Georg Danzer's band for 14 years, recorded several albums with him, wrote the title "Nua da Noa is wirklich frei" for the CD "Große Dinge," co-founded the trio "Danzer – Bäer – Baum," and was the conductor of the legendary band "Austria 3." The unusual soundscape with Hackbrett arrangements by Maria Ma is completely new. She has developed a distinctive playing style on the Hackbrett. Her unique, highly musical pioneering spirit is evident in her ability to use the Hackbrett in pop music as if it were the most natural combination ever. In addition to her stage activities as a solo artist and with her own ensembles, she works as a studio and stage musician with Gert Steinbäcker and Schiffkowitz (STS), Christian Kolonovits, SCURDIA, Markus Schirmer, Ina Regen, and many others.
