Barber's Sisters - Red Lips and Petticoats

Red lips, petticoats, and four unique voices: these are the Barber’s Sisters. The four-member female ensemble combines melody and harmony, delighting audiences with new arrangements of well-known tunes from musicals, radio, and films of the 1940s, 50s, and 60s, along with lively choreography and plenty of charm. The four singers studied together at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. After a tour with the Webern Chamber Choir through the United States, they decided to form an ensemble. Following intense rehearsals, a lot of sweat, and a few fits of laughter, their first public performance took place in the spring of 2017. After several concerts in Vienna and Lower Austria, they participated in the "Open Mic Night" (Voicemania) and went on a tour through Tyrol. In 2018, the Barber’s Sisters performed at the "Country Music Night Herzogenburg" and at the "Stimmenfestival Freistadt" as the opening act for Maybebop. With their two programs "Beyond the Sea" and "Merry Christmas Darling," they performed in 2019 alongside baritone Daniel Gutmann and pianists Dominik Landolt and Florian Nentwich. In the summer of 2020, the four of them organized the first "A Capella Night" at Schloss Walpersdorf together with the Vienna Barbershop Quartet. In 2021/22, they had further performances in St. Pölten, Perchtolsdorf, and Vienna. The current program, titled "Somewhere, sometime, now!" features the Barber’s Sisters performing in 2024 alongside singer and cabaret artist Katie La Folle at the "Musiksommer Bad Schallerbach" and in Vienna.
