"In Colin Pütz's piano playing, technical brilliance and expressiveness combine with a touching naturalness," says Rudolf Buchbinder – and not without reason: He personally selected the young German pianist as the winner of the prestigious Swiss piano award Prix Serdang 2025. Pütz's debut in Grafenegg is thus another sign of personal appreciation from the artistic director. The program features Beethoven's 1st Piano Concerto, an early work that, due to its dimensions and depth, is a "truly great" concerto, as Buchbinder emphasizes. In Tchaikovsky's "Pathétique," any mention of greatness and expressiveness is unnecessary; it simply ranks among the milestones of music history. Domingo Hindoyan, the acclaimed chief conductor of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and designated music director of the Los Angeles Opera, will lead the Tonkünstler-Orchester.
