On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of her first album BY THE BLUE, British singer-songwriter Rosie Brown and Austrian guitarist and long-time co-writer Bernd Rest are touring with their band.
The five-member formation – Brown and Rest together with their long-time musical companions Simon Russell, Paul May, and Markus Marageter – weaves folk, jazz, and blues influences in a fascinating way. Echoes of Joni Mitchell, Nick Drake, and John Martyn blend with a distinctive, personal sound full of warmth and depth. With elements from country, surf, the 60s, and classical music, a sound unfolds that dreams and dances – cinematic, funky, and full of soul.
