Teresa Reichl is now almost 30 and has not achieved any of the goals she set for herself at 16. No house, no man, no children. Instead, she has a girlfriend and a three-legged cat. And a stage instead of a teaching career. How is one supposed to know that they are an adult when they earn their money with jokes? And how can one earn money with jokes when suddenly they have depression?
Teresa talks about standing in between, about not belonging, and about the search for love – including the overwhelm when it finally arrives. When everything turns out completely different than one always thought, there is ultimately only one thing left: to laugh about it. And that works quite well – so far.
Teresa Reichl is the winner of the Bavarian Cabaret Prize 2023 and the German Small Arts Prize 2025.
